I recently learned about Gigcoin, a site that gives gigs to bloggers. Instead of relying only on my blog for income, Gigcoin offers me surveys and other campaigns that I can do on the side.
Some of the surveys I’ve completed were for apps, blogging conferences, Facebook pages and giveaways. They all vary in length and I’m paid accordingly. My favorite gig so far was being chosen as Gigcoin’s Facebook page host for a day.
When you join Gigcoin, you fill out your profile. The information includes your Twitter ID, Facebook info, etc. The more information you provide, the better. This way Gigcoin, other bloggers and companies using Gigcoin can see your social media reach. You then apply for gigs. You don’t have to take any that you’re not interested in. It takes just a short time to be notified if you are approved. The pitches that you are likely to get are on your dashboard. They are also listed by category.
When approved, you are given a deadline to complete your gig. The information needed is on the site. Take your time to read and answer the questions or complete the task. Then submit. You are paid very soon after submission, sometimes immediately. You can withdraw your money to PayPal at any time. You don’t have to reach a limit first and there’s no PayPal fees – a great perk! Gigcoin is good about asking if they can quote you on their blog for some surveys. This gets you noticed by other bloggers and companies.
The site is simple to use. If you have any questions, just click on the Ask A Q button or ask the owners, Julie Diaz-Asper and Ana Roca Castro via Twitter anything. They’re quick to respond. There’s also a Gigcoin app so I can complete my gigs when I’m out and about. The only suggestion I have is for them is to email users when new gigs are posted. To keep up to date on what’s available, though I watch Gigcoin’s Twitter Feed and Facebook page.
I haven’t created a pitch yet, but that is a service that is available as well for free to bloggers. I’ve been extremely pleased with Gigcoin. I enjoy writing about my opinion on their surveys, like the extra money and am happy that my social influence is broadened because of their service.
This is a sponsored post by Gigcoin. I applied for and was approved for one of their gigs.
