The iTriage app provides health information right on your smart phone. Use it for every day medical guidance, for emergency situations and to keep track of your personal health information. The iTriage app is free and is available on iPhone and iPod Touch, Android, and Palm. It’s coming soon to BlackBerry.
With multiple chronic illnesses and my daughter’s sudden medical issues, having an app that provides information about diseases and symptoms is helpful. You can easily call 911 and find the closest emergency room with iTriage. If you choose, you can connect to Google Health to maintain you health record.
Medical Guidance
Symptoms and diseases are listed alphabetically. If you search for something that isn’t listed, but use a similar word, it provides you with alternatives. For example, search for “stomach” in symptoms and “Abdominal Swelling” comes up along with “Stomach pain”.
I was shocked to find Myasthenia Gravis, one of the illnesses I have, as one of the listed diseases, as it is quite rare and many health professionals don’t know what it is. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find, Sinus Tachycardia, which is much more common, listed. Once you narrow down what you’re searching for, there’s more detailed information including Treatment, Videos, Web Searches, etc.
Emergency Situations
You can easily dial 911 from the home page of the app. Get directions and wait times to local ER’s, or find doctors, clinics, pharmacies all quickly. Sort either by Featured or Distance. When you are traveling or even driving a short distance from home, using this app to find medical care quickly makes iTriage worth it.
When my daughter has a symptom that needs to be taken care of right away, instead of calling the cardiologist, we can find help first. This can bring us some peace of mind.
Personal Health Information
If you agree to iTriage’s separate Privacy Policy for “Your Health Record” you can log into Google Health and track your medical information, including your medications, medical records, fitness or diet goals and so much more. Some hospitals, doctors and pharmacies are associated with Google Health so you’ll have your information with you at all times by using iTriage.
It’s so difficult to keep track of all of our medical information. My daughter and I both have folders full of records. I will consider adding our medication lists to save us time and effort for our many doctor visits.
The iTriage health app provides tips on how to use it more efficiently and has a medical glossary. Founded by Healthagen, this app is a promotion for health related businesses, as well as a resource for medical information, so be sure to read the privacy policy.
