Tackle It Tuesday – Laundry After Illness

This is my first Tackle It Tuesday and I’m taking on a lot – laundry after I’ve been sick. My husband is amazing and does so much around the house, but last week was so busy that he barely had time to breath. I spent a lot of time in bed sick or sleeping. And the laundry, it did what it always does. It piled up.

By Sunday I started to feel better. Well enough to even go shopping – some of the best medicine around. I picked up a bottle of ARM & HAMMER® Power Gel Laundry Detergent for 62 Loads. I could not find the Essentials detergent so instead I bought the one with OxiClean®. I’ve used OxiClean® before and loved the way it removed tough stains. With this detergent, I’m able to use it as a pre-treater. Not having to buy something extra makes me happy.

When I opened the bottle, it smelled really clean. It’s not overpowering, but just made want to get those nasty clothes done. They came out without a fragrance, which is important in my family since my daughter is allergic to lots of things. Most important, they came out clean. I didn’t need to pre-treat anything with these loads but I already know the power of OxiClean® and believe that it will get out almost any stain that comes my way.

The bottle was heavy for me to lift since it was full, but there was a smaller size that I chose not to get. I do wish that the cap lines were easier to read and that instead of saying, “Use more for heavily soiled clothes” there were more specific directions.

Back to my tackle, I did 6 loads of laundry today. Folded and hung them up. Later on I’ll put them away. Sorry for not having any stains to review but I guess since I was sleeping a lot, the biggest stain culprit was off duty.

And here’s some photos to share:

Just some of the dirty laundry. There was a whole lot more.

Clean, folded laundry – a mother’s delight.

So I put my folded laundry on my couch. What’s it to you?

One savior of the day, besides me.

5 Minutes for Mom and ARM & HAMMER provided me with the detergent for this review. I’m also entered into a contest by writing and linking my post. All opinion stated are 100% my own.

  1. You really liked the Arm & Hammer with Oxiclean? It would be great if it gets things clean enough to pass my husband’s discerning eyes, laundry stuff is so expensive and I know Arm & Hammer is very competitively priced.

  2. I don’t use detergent at all, I have found the tablets seem to be better nearly all the time.

6 loads of washing in one day is insane though, you must be very tired!
