Messy Playtime With Moon Dough

Messy play is beneficial and fun for toddlers and Moon Dough is the easy clean up toy that lets kids be kids. Messy play is great for the senses, exploration, being sociable and self-expression.  The feeling of the dough is “like cotton” according to Lauren, who is 8 years old. Her 3 year old sister didn’t have much to say, but her interest in touching and playing with the Moon Dough was evident.

Moon Dough Play

The Moon Dough Magic Barnyard contains the molding dough that never dries out (3 colored packages), a barn where the creation of barn animals takes place, a fence mold, a hay bale mold and a play mat.  Your children can squish around the Moon Dough, make and re-make animals and fence parts, or make an entire barn yard to use in pretend play. The directions on using the barn are easy to follow and once you show your child a few times, they’ll be on a roll on their own. As suggested by the directions, make the dough into a ball before using any of the molds to lessen flaking and to allow for better creations. It works!

Clean up Time

Yes, you’ll find pieces of Moon Dough in the area where your child plays, but it’s super easy to clean up. First, use a smooth surface that isn’t carpeted to play. You may want to put some plastic underneath the play area, but it’s not necessary. When play time is done, just use a piece of Moon Dough to pick up the small pieces left around. You can make this into a game with your children! There’s more detailed information on the Moon Dough site for clean up of clothing, etc.

You can buy the Moon Dough Magic Barnyard at Amazon.com for $19.99. It is for ages 3+ and kept both a 3 year old and an 8 year old busy and happy!
