We don’t have a coat closet, so it’s important to keep jackets, umbrellas, purses — anything that needs to go out the door with the wearer/bearer — on hooks near the door.
I found, from experience, that Command hooks can even hold a (fairly light) decorative tin butterfly on a stucco wall on our back porch. (The instructions don’t say if outdoor use is okay, but no nail or fastener would go in this particular wall, so I gave it a try, out of desperation.)
