Motorola TalkABout Two-Way Radios For Back To School

Wondering why Motorola TalkABout Two-Way radios are good for back to school? If your school doesn’t allow cell phones or your tween is too young for them,  Motorola TalkABouts work well for after school events or for parents to keep in touch with their tweens during pick up time.

Motorola TalkABout MC220R radios have:

  • Up to 16 mile range
  • 22 Channels, each with 38 privacy codes for 836 combinations
  • 5 call tones
  • Quiet Talk interruption feature
  • Includes 2 radios, 2 belt clips, 1 dual charger, 1 charging adapter and 2 (3 x AA) NiMH rechargeable battery packs and 1 User’s Guide.
  • Backlit display
  • LCD battery display
  • Keypad lock
  • Audible low battery alert

My Review: We use the Motorola TalkABout during pick up time after school. I drive my daughter to and from school and pick up time can be hectic. Sometimes it’s hard for my daughter to find me. She turns her radio on as soon as she’s dismissed from school. I have mine on in the car and we can talk!

The radios are lightweight and sturdy, so keeping them in her backpack isn’t a problem. We charge them at night as needed. My daughter will be using the radios more as the school year goes on. I’ll give them to her for football games, dances and other after school events to share with a friend so they can keep in touch. We’ll also use them on trips to Disney World and other theme parks. This is also great experience for when I allow her to have a cell phone.

Buy Them: Motorola TalkABout MC220R 16-Mile 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio are available on Amazon.com for $33.24.

Have you ever used a two-way radio? What about for school?
