Aloha Friday – Spring Break

Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends! (Thanks to Kailani at An Island Life for this fun theme! My Question:

Do you have a family tradition for Spring Break?

My Answer:

Spring Break here in Florida is usually a little more than one week off from school for our daughter, Sammi. My husband takes a week off from work and we go on one of family Disney World Vacations. This year we’re going Saturday – Friday. I can’t wait!

Most years we have Passover during Spring Break, so we are “stuck” close to home. Passover ends Tuesday night, so after that I am going to look for some fun things to do with both of the boys while hubby is at work. So jealous of your Disney vacation. Have a wonderful time, take lots of photos and please share updates :)

We don’t have any traditions. My eldest usually goes to Myrtle Beach with her dad that week. And last year, we took our youngest to NYC for a special treat. But that was spur of the moment.

We don’t really celebrate spring reak over here in the UK, the kids will have a week off school for half term, but that’s about it!

We went to Disney World in April 2 years ago. That would be so awesome to go every year. Lucky you!

This year, my daughter has a field trip with her GS troop on one of the days, and I’m hoping my mother will take the shopping for some Spring/Summer clothes. Other than that not much else.

When I worked full time I would take the entire week off and we would either go to Florida to visit family or my parents would come up and spend the week with us exploring Virginia. This is the first year we have no plans. =/

    Pat Curry says:

Our Spring break plans seemed to change each year as the children, then the grandchildren have grown but it always involved the traditional Easter egg coloring and hunt as well as a big ham, grandpa’s shrimp salad and his potato salad. Our two year old grandson starts the cycle again this year as he is just old enough to really share my appreciation for fine CHOCOLATE! This means I can buy him a chocolate Easter bunny and eat the ears off. One of the favorite traditions from years past was taking flowers to church to add to the 8 foot high Easter flower cross.

My daughter attends a track school so she doesn’t have a Spring Break. However, she will be off-track in a couple of weeks and we’re headed for Disneyland!

We don’t have a family tradition for spring break, but if our vacation falls in there, we’ll travel to see family that lives far away.
