Facebook Guide For Parents Review

The Facebook Guide For Parents is available in EBook and video format by Supreme Social Media. The information covered is appropriate for newbies to Facebook as well as people who have been a member for years. It covers keeping your children and teens safe as well as provides information on starting an account, privacy, bullying, finding friends and photo settings.

The Videos:

Protecting your family is the main subject matter in The Facebook Guide For Parents. The videos are easy to follow and provide instructions in detail so that you can follow along making changes to your Facebook account. In total there are 11 videos, with a running time of about 3 minutes to 6 minutes. Just short enough to stop and go back if you need to review the information.

The EBook:

The EBook goes into much more detail than the videos. You can read about the harm that can come to children and teens from Facebook, but more importantly what we as parents can do to prevent it. Following the same format as the videos, the EBook provides screen shots along with the precise language used on Facebook for each of its settings. You can use this as a backup to the videos or on its own.

My Review:

I was thrilled with the utter amount of information provided in The Facebook Guide For Parents! Even as a member of Facebook for about 2 years, I learned about privacy settings, blocking people, search options and much more that I wasn’t aware of before. When my younger daughter is old enough to become a member, I will make use of the tools provided. The voice over on the video as well as the live action on Facebook was well done. I followed along, made some changes on my account and then read through the EBook. My preference is the videos because of the shorter time I used to watch all of them.
