I've been doing it for ten years plus now, and professionally for half that time. When I started out, there were no "how to" sites - I had to learn it all on my own. Now in my "other" job (as a marketing consultant for solo entrepreneurs) I teach others how to "DIY" - and I just love doing it, since there are companies out there that charge small businesses thousands of dollars (literally) to do this very thing for them! Blogging is a great way for the chronically pained to earn a living, by the way. BUT, it takes a lot of work, it ain't easy, and it takes time.
