It was so great to connect with you at Disney and I also felt the same way about Chris Brogan… I was so amazed that he remembered me when I started following him on Twitter.

Connie, even having never met you I know that you’re genuine. I felt a real connection through our tweets and emails. We may live 1500 miles apart, but your one of my best online friends. It’s great that you’re attending so many conferences, and I hope to meet you in person someday. I agree that people like Murray and Chris are people-people – it’s easy to tell from the way one writes and connects.

Connecting with others has been just amazing for me, too, Connie! The early days of the forum where I met you were just awesome! I don’t go there enough anymore to really know if there are some good connections happening. And being part of Lynn’s forum has totally rocked! Two of the biggest things for me have been, connections-wise, have been Twitter and the three events I have attended.

What a great story you shared about Chris Brogan and Murray Newlands. Fear of rejection can sometimes prevent us from connecting with others online. We think our opinions are of no consequence. We are too ordinary. Nobody will listen. And so we keep ourselves to the same old circle of friends.

Ah, the things we sometimes do to shortchange ourselves online.

It’s great you’ve met Chris Brogan who has mastered the art of genuinely connecting with people. I’m a fan, too.
