Lola’s Flag Adventure is an iPhone App that teaches children about the flags of the world. There’s two different games included – a memory game for children who can’t read yet and a trivia game. The memory game is fun even for older children. The trivia game teaches children and adults too how to recognize various flags.

Lola is a cute Panda who is along for both games. The Memory game is just like your regular game where you turn over squares to match them together. The difference here though is that the country name of each flag is named using voice guidance as you turn it over. This helps teach your child learn using both visual and auditory styles. The Trivia game shows flags and has your child select the country from three choices. Children receive a score on this game and can decide to save it. This way you can see as you improve.

My Review:Â My daughter Samantha played both games and so did I. She did very well with the Memory Game, but had to work harder at the Trivia Game. She enjoyed the graphics and thought that Lola was cute. I enjoyed the game as well. Our one issue was that the sound was very loud, even when we lowered the volume on the iPhone. The flags were broken up into Global, Asia & Pacific, Europe and Americas for Trivia. It is missing countries from Africa and other countries. I hope that they will be updated.
Purchase: Available for $1.99 from the Apple iTunes store in either English or Simple Chinese. Also available for iTouch Touch.

The memory game using world flags sounds like fun and a great teaching tool as well. I still don’t know whether to get an iPhone or a Blackberry – lol.

I just wish our Kiwi flag was a bit more distinctive, learning to tell it from the Aussie one is tricky!
