Comfort Living Book Review And Giveaway

Comfort Living is a book that will help you transform your home into a balanced, organized and hub where you can be yourself. No need to follow the latest design trend if it isn’t your style. No need to be chained to your cleaning closet or hire an organizer (sorry to my organizer friends). Take eight weeks and enjoy being in your home doing what you love. New Years Resolution perhaps?

Christine Eisner, the author of Comfort Living: A Back-to-Basics Guide to a More Balanced Lifestyle, assists you to create the space where you want to hang out by yourself, where you want to be cozy and do the things you enjoy, even work at home.

The photos are beautiful and inspiring. The steps include exercises where you focus on what your personal style is and then put that into action. Organization is a big part of Comfort Living, but it isn’t done rigidly. In fact you will learn to keep your home tidy in small steps. It is broken up into eight chapters which can be completed in eight weeks.

This is part workbook, instructional book and photography book. It does assist with design, but it is your own style that you will discover and use in your home. A small book, Comfort Living Journal, is available also. You can keep track of your Treasures and Obstacles.

I would love for my home to be just a tad bit more homey. It is but the bedroom is actually the furniture that my husband had when he was a bachelor. it is not the pieces that I care for. We have been married for over 11 yr and it is still that furniture.
I would also love to know how to have storage space when a home really doesn’t have that much.

I would make my home more my own style by putting my imprint on the office area. It’s so lifeless and cluttered, I would love suggestions and help with it!

I want to make my home more my style by buying things that I love from yard sales and thrift stores. Buying used gives me the sense of having treasures throughout my home.

What a great book. I decluttered my home a few years ago and strive for finding a home for everything that we need/use but sometimes I think the design is a bit sterile. It sounds like Comfort Living would certainly be helpful in finding balance.

I’d love to make my home more in my own style, but unfortunately, my husband has a complete opposite style, and I can’t just disregard his feelings. So I’d like to have just one room in the house (or bedroom?) that could reflect more of my tastes and vision. I like a very modern, minimalist look with an extra dose of femininity that one doesn’t usually associate with such a decor.

I would like more Indian print fabrics, knit or crocheted blankets, things like that to spruce up large wooden dressers, tables, and our couch. Just add a little more visual interest and warmth to the room!

I want to let you know that the first session of my Comfort Living Club is this Tuesday. I hope you’ll join me and pass this on to others. It’s amazing how the smallest changes can put you on a path to a more comfortable and enriching lifestyle, so here’s to moving toward positive change!
    All the best,
    Christine

    some info:
Livestreaming is from 7:30 to 8:30 pm EST. I will personally guide you through my book, which was designed as an 8-week process to demystify the notion of “living well” and bring a more balanced lifestyle within easy reach. (Dates: January 12 and 26, February 9 and 23, March 9th. If you can’t join the live session, you can always view the recording afterwards).

I have learned that it doesn’t take much to live a little better and — greater still — money is not a necessity for “living well”. After all:
    • How long does it take to crack open a window to bring in the fresh air?
    • How long does it take to frame a photograph or make it your screensaver?
    • How long does it take to tell a friend or family member that you care?
All are welcome to join, so feel free to pass this on!
    Christine

    Susan says:

I would love to be able to declutter and rearrange what we have to give the whole place a homey feel. We recently moved to this area and the new place is smaller than our old one. I would love to be able to utilize my storage option better, which I think would actually give me more room. I need to add art to more walls and update my pictures.
I think I know what I want to do and I am looking for the few pieces I want to add.

Christine – I will definitely try to catch your Comfort Living livestream. If not I will watch it when I get time later in the evening.

I feel like my home is pretty homey, and fits my style well, but there are things I could do to make it flow better and the storage work better. I always joke that my “inside” stuff (the closets, cabinets, etc.) is much more clutter-free than the “outside” stuff that people actually see!
