In case of an emergency we want EMS to get our address correct. We have black numbers on our white mail box, but at night that may not be enough. We need something to help our address stand out for them, for delivery people and for visitors. Of course I want those people that will bring us one million dollars to find us too! In this area, an address plaque is one of the best ways to be sure our house is noticed.
Thank goodness that I haven’t needed an ambulance in a long time, but with my mother staying with us on and off and with my husband’s serious allergy to wasp and bee stings, I need to feel secure that my house will be located quickly in an emergency. We don’t have good street signs here and my street is very long. The home numbers don’t follow a pattern that makes finding a house simple. Many people use address signs to point people to their home.
I don’t have to settle for a boring sign either. There are a lot of choices including colors, shapes and sizes. The designs are very pretty too. Since I’m a Disney fan, I’d love to have my very own Disney address plaque on the front of my house. It shows off our personality because we are all fans. This would calm my worries too.

I used to be a pizza delivery guy in Boston during high school and college. I can attest that most houses, especially in the boston and suburb areas, are woefully under-marked. I know it’s not emergency work, but same sort of idea.
I grew up in the middle of nowhere with a PO box and we had a reflective sign on the street with our address in case of emergencies. My husband is a paramedic and he really appreciates these!

I agree! When I called the ambulance for my husband, and they couldn’t find us in spite of being on the main road, I realised the importance of good clear signs.
