Mom is cancer-free! I’m sorry for not posting this news sooner, but I posted in on Facebook and Twitter. After her surgery to remove the lymph nodes under her right arm, we got a call from the surgeon to tell us that none of the nodes were malignant! He said that he was surprised and we are still celebrating!
We’re not sure what this will mean in terms of treatment, expect that she will not need chemotherapy. I’m hoping that she won’t need radiation either, but we don’t want to get our hopes up. Right now the only malignancy was the one lymph node that was removed. No primary source was found.
Being cancer-free is liberating especially when we didn’t know what she was facing, including how she would handle this surgery. She did so well that she didn’t need to stay overnight and was sent home hours after. We see the surgeon on Monday and then we’ll make an appointment with the oncologist. Thank you all for your support. Miracles still happen!

So good to hear Connie, and a relief for all your family I’m sure! What a wonderful early gift for the holidays that your Mom’s cancer-free! Blessings!
