I drove down to FL and spent 2 weeks with her and my step dad. She was a wreck and needed her 'happy pills' just to make it through. I can understand your frustration and hope the doctor can make everything right once again. Being a caregiver is very exhausting. When I was taking care of my mom at the end or her battle with breast cancer, I remember feeling so torn between taking care of my two young children and being there for her.
