• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • K’NEX Construction Sets Review And Contest

November 24th, 2009 by Connie Roberts

I’m new to K’NEX Construction Sets and so is my 10 year old Samantha. When we received the 400 Piece Value  Tub, she tore open the plastic around it and glanced inside. A big smile crossed her face and she did a big happy dance. She’s a very creative child and she knew this toy was going to get her mind going.

For ages 7+ children can let their imaginations go wild. There’s bricks, wheels, gears and movable parts all in a nice storage tub that will make any mom’s heart go aflutter. If you already have Lego brand items, K’NEX works with them. We loved the instruction booklet since we were beginners. It can help your child build up to 20 different models.

Available for $21.99 and on sale for upcoming Black Friday sales at major retailers or directly through K’NEX.

Samantha made something quick just for me to say thank you:

For younger children, ages 2-5, K’NEX has Sesame Street Building Sets. There are four individual sets including an: Ice Cream Truck, Police Car, 1-2-3 Brownstone (home) and Police Station. Buy them individually, but if you purchase more than one, there’s a Sesame Street neighborhood!

The pieces are bigger and easier for younger children to handle. They are fun to use but also provide Developmental Benefits such as hand-eye coordination, sorting skills, encouraging imaginative play and problem-solving skills. Each set has an Activity Sheet that helps you as a parent use these sets as more than as opportunity to build. Learn facts about the parts, how to encourage your child to learn their colors, to count and identify shapes.

We received the Police Station with 44 parts including a bendable Elmo and Ernie. This set pairs with the Police Car. Retail Value is $20.99, but again look for lower prices online or in retail stores.
