Waikoloa Beach Resort Hawaii
November 20th, 2009 by Connie RobertsWinning a trip of a lifetime to Hawaii has made me realize that putting off things for later (when Shawn retires, after this event or that one, etc.) just isn’t worth it. Staying at Waikoloa Beach Resort was amazing and something I’d never dreamed I do for a long time, if ever.
What a beautiful place to relax, swim in the various pools and the beach, take part in a luau and learn about the culture of Hawaii. The lobby is open air and looks out to the pool and ocean. The staff is so friendly! There are so many pools from an Infinity pool,a children’s pool with a slide, a sand bottom pool and a waterfall.

The restaurant was one of the best I’ve had the pleasure to dine in. Hawaii Calls Restaurant and Lounge is an outdoor area near the pool. It is covered but without walls so you can feel the ocean breeze. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There was not one meal that we ordered that we didn’t love. There were specials each night also. We had a favorite server, Lulu who I highly recommend.
The Luau was fun but we were disappointed that the pig was not cooked traditionally in an imu pit. The photos showed that and so we assumed. Now we now to ask. The show was colorful and fun though so it made up for the pig roast.
Even though my mother was sick for most of the trip we did enjoy the local activities. We didn’t get to visit the volcano due to rain and flood watches but I know will do it next time! I also know that I will take a few days in Las Vegas on her way to Hawaii to take in that city but also to break up the very long trip.

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

Sigh. It just looks so beautiful and my memories of Hawaii and still gorgeous in my mind. I would so love to go back!

I’m so jealous, Connie! I’ve never been to Hawaii. Probably the only one. Lulu sounds great, but I’m sorry the brochure advertised a more traditional luau that you did not receive.
I’m actually kind of afraid to go there – I’m afraid I won’t want to return!

I’m so jealous. It’s 34 degrees here in Chicago right now.

I could so use a vacation like this. It has been over 12 years since I went anywhere.

I am so ready to return to Hawaii. We went for our honeymoon 5 years ago and it went by too fast. We actually stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa and that whole area and island is beautiful. We ran out of time to do the volcano too, but next time it is on our list. I am glad you had a great trip!
