Blogging Alliance
October 12th, 2009 by Connie RobertsWant to take your blog to the next level? After reading the post about Blogging Buddies from Murray Newlands I realized that I have a few bloggers that I work together with by sharing posts, commenting back and forth, and sharing new ideas – a blogging alliance.

Unfortunately too many people drop out after saying that they are willing to be involved. It’s a shame when that occurs. I’m not really sure why this happens, but I have a feeling that they’re not willing to work hard at their blogging or they see competition instead of sharing. I could be totally wrong so if you have a reason why, let me know here.
The few loyal buddies that I have are people that I maintain an online relationship with via emails, Skype or Instant Messaging. We try to include some fun time into our blogging alliance. We share laughs, photos of our families, cards via snail mail and even chain emails. Who can resist that?
I love comments! If you like what you've read and want to stay "in the know" why not sign up for my RSS feed? If you're already a subscriber, thank you.
I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

I hear you! I was in one before but had to drop out because one member was not somebody I wanted to be associated with.

A blogging alliance, or mastermind group – can definitely be a great thing, helpful for all involved. And I think you’re right – that if you make your alliance into more of a ‘community’ – that definitely helps with the stickiness of it. But even then, it’s like the death of (or big changes to) your ‘fave message board’ – people change, people have fallings out, and people move on. It’s definitely hard to stay a group – in any way, shape, or form. While the group is good, though – it can be a wonderful thing, for sure!

It seems as if we find people who we feel an alliance with. I enjoy reading their blogs and like your blog, I feel we would be friends in real life.

For me, the biggest issue is that situations change. A year ago I was in seventh heaven blogging away and then…life happened. I just had my hands full with a construction project, new caregiving clients, etc.
I always knew, though, that one day I’d get back to it and the most fun this time is that I’m not trying to make money with it! Just writing for the fun of it and loving the chance to run around reading other people’s stuff!
Hopefully, community will result.

Hi Connie, glad you are liking the alliance. Lots of bloggers fall of the face of the earth–it’s a serious commitment that we have undertaken. Talk to you soon.
