Rock Of Ages Soundtrack Review

Rock of Ages Soundtrack wails! It totally makes me feel like I was back in the day, wearing short skirts, zippered shirts and Candy shoes. My hair was wild with hairspray and I was ready to rock any time, anywhere. What awesome memories! Can you relate? Don’t worry if you can’t, you’ll still get into the music.

New Line Records just hammered the in-store release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of five-time Tony Award nominated “ROCK OF AGES.”  For those of you not in the know, Rock of Ages is the new Broadway musical starring American Idol finalist Constantine Maroulis. Set in 1987 in a legendary Sunset Strip rock club, a small-town girl meets a big-city dreamer and they fall in love to the greatest metal songs of the 80’s. The musical is an arena-rock love story told through the mind-blowing, face-melting hits of Journey, Bon Jovi, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, Whitesnake and more.

You can take a look at the YouTube Video on the making of the Rock Of Ages Soundtrack. It offers you a feel for the rush you’ll feel when you listen to the music. Please note – there is some adult language in this video that is beeped out. It may not be suitable for children.

The CD includes some of the dialogue from the show, which adds to the involvement I felt of being part of the live show. It helped me to understand what the show is about, but again, it does include some obscenities and some language that may not be desirable for your children to hear. Be sure to listen to the CD first before playing it while your kidlets are present.

Other than that, rock out with songs such as Just Like Paradise, Here I Go Again, Every Rose Has Its Thorn. The renditions of these all out rockin’ songs are fantastic. I love Constantine Maroulis and Amy Spanger.
