• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Mari Kurisato Illustrates Me

August 26th, 2009 by Connie Roberts

As part of my winner’s package from Murray Newland’s Blog Competition, I won an illustration of myself from Mari Kurisato. I’m thrilled with the outcome of her portrait and glad that I had my fabulous photo from Alicia’s wedding to give to her to use.

Mari Kurisato has a blog, Mari’s MetaMusings, and  accepts commissions for her art work. She reveals the process of how she completes portraits and you can tell that she enjoys what she does. She also is an excellent illustrator. When I first looked at her blog, I thought she was Japanese because of how she writes, using Japanese phrases and her anime work sprinkled throughout her writing. In fact she is an Ojibwe Native.

And now to share the illustration from Mari Kurisato:

I love this! I hope that doesn’t sound like I’m being conceited.

Cool picture, really nice! It reminded me a bit of one genre of anime (my kids live for anime so I’m learning quite a lot about it!).

What will you do with the picture?
