• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Get Campus Ready With Sears

July 23rd, 2009 by Connie Roberts

Sears is helping students get ready for college with their Campus Ready program. Finances are usually a big problem for students because their time is devoted to studies (hopefully). It’s hard to hold down a job and even if you do, the expenses that come along with attending school seem to grow as easily as the Freshman Fifteen.

I remember when my daughter went off to college. Even though she had a scholarship, she still had to buy books, supplies and furnishings for her room. She did work, but it was tough to get by. She tried to save money by using a cell phone that we paid for and by coming home to stock up on food to bring back with her.

Sears CampusReady provides a way for students to ease their money worries a bit. By purchasing a gift card from a Sears store and sending it with your student, you are giving them access to purchase the items they need at either Sears or Kmart. You can easily reload the card online as needed.

I checked out CampusReady on Facebook and found coupons to print for sales and a fun application where you can make a model of a dorm room. You then choose some of the purchases you’d like to make so your room is comfortable and stylish. I chose the top five items for my “wish list”. Try it out for yourself!

I love shopping at Sears because of the discounts and the quality of their products. Getting your college student started out shopping at Sears is a lesson of a lifetime.
