Love Equals Sacrifice Book Review and Giveaway

*COMMENTS CLOSED. WINNER ANNOUNCED.*

Love Equals Sacrifice, The Journey Of Loyalty And Service is written by Michael Stidham and is an autobiographical story about his years caring for his father who had Alzheimer’s. The time spent as a caregiver became a major turning point in Mr. Stidham’s life.

He learned about being a hard worker and about sacrificing for your family from his mother and father. He continued this during his career and then after his mother died and his father’s health deteriorated and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. He gave up his life, including almost any type of social time to care for his father on his own.

When he looked back on these years and the special things that happened, even some of the bad times, he learned to give up control to God, about how important love and loved ones are, and to enjoy every minute you get to spend on earth.

love_equals_sacrificeMy Review: I enjoyed reading the background of Mr. Stidham’s parents and of his own family life. Although written in a matter-of-fact manner, there was great emotion in this book. The love between his family was easily seen and understood. The transformation that Mr. Stidman went through was touching as well as how he took over being  his father’s caregiver without any hesitation.

Great review! While Alzheimers didn’t affect our family, ALS (Lou Gehrigh’s disease) did… so I can imagine the impact this book had on you.

great synopsis and review of the book! You gave more details about what the book is about than the Amazon page. Although, the Amazon page does note that Mr. Stidham is an accountant and a catholic which you did not mention. Not that it’s significant :)
