• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Diane Birch Bible Belt CD Review

June 21st, 2009 by Connie Roberts

Diane Birch’s Bible Belt is just my style of music – eclectic. There’s blues, retro-pop and soul. Her voice is mesmerizing, soulful and haunting. She doesn’t fit into one category, but makes a category of her own. The reviews of Bible Belt, her debut album, have been excellent:

I’ve just heard the future of singer-songwriters and her name is Diane Birch…Birch has delivered an album with strong echoes of Laura Nyro and Carole King but with songs that… retain that thrilling shock of the new…Bible Belt is more than welcoming — it’s downright thrilling – The Huffington Post

Move over Amy, Adele and Duffy: The British blue-eyed-soul brigade gets some serious competition from this Yankee on her Debut! – People Magazine, Critics Choice.

Diane Birch grew up the child of a Pastor and says that church hymns are part of her music. You’ll hear it in the lyrics and “chord structures”. Feel free to download one of her songs, Fire Escape, for free (MP3 player version). You can also hear read about her and hear the other tracks, including one of my favorites, Nothing But A Miracle, on Diane Birch’s MySpace page.

This is the kind of music that enjoy listening to while I’m writing, reading or relaxing. It has a soothing effect. Diane wrote the music and lyrics and I feel connected to her. Weird, but it’s really how I feel.
