Family Day

We had a family day today. It wasn’t all fun and games but we added in some time to unwind and have a bite to eat at dinner. We had a lot of chores to get done and doctor appointments (but of course!). We also went to MacDill Commissary to get ready for our Disney trip.

Hubby and I made sure that Peanut would help us with our chores but enjoy herself too. She had to go to the oral surgeon to get her mouth checked first. Everything is perfect! While they were there, I went for blood work and to get my B12 shot and then we were off.

We had a few stops to make before the Commissary so we made sure to talk about our Disney trip plans, what Peanut wants to do this summer and how she feels about missing her teachers and her friends. This helped her feel a bit better after talking it over with us.

At the Commissary, she helped sort coupons and get some of the food we needed from the shelves. That place is huge and always crowded so shopping there is quite tiring. With her help, we got done in about an hour.

We chose a place to eat that we all agreed on and had a nice meal together. Again, we talked and laughed. It’s so nice to spend time together as a family even if it’s doing chores.

Sounds like you had a great time!

I always tell my husband that it doesn’t matter WHAT we’re doing, family time is just spending time together. He doesn’t get why I’m always asking him to take Helena with him to Home Depot or Lowes or something like that. He’s looking at it like an errand and I’m looking at it as a chance for the two of them to talk in the car – kwim?
