• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Furniture Dreams

June 9th, 2009 by Connie Roberts

If I could have any furniture I could dream of, I’d get a new desk and chair for my home office. I am so uncomfortable there, that I now sit on my sofa with my laptop to blog. It’s not the best seated position for me since I have fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and other medical conditions. I end up with sore neck muscles, and a hot lap!

I would love to have an ergonomic office set that is adjustable and has a retrofit design so that I can place my laptop on my desk and have it just where I need it. My chair would have a footrest and back support. I don’t know if these items would be available as rustic furniture since most of them have a more modern look them. That look fits better with my other furniture any way.

Thank God for laptops or we wouldn’t get anything done would we?? I had a handy man help build countertop desks in our little office and bought three little cheapo chairs from Staples. I too spend most of my time on the couch or in a recliner with a hot lap.My husband did get me a table-mate folding table that will pull up close and adjust in height. It is a little flimsy and is good for eating off of but i still wind up with the comp on my.lap.
I saw somewhere a rolling laptop center that would work and you can angle it for comfort and even roll into the kitchen to use while cooking but I think it was too modern and expensive for what I want. I feel your pain..
