School ends here on June 3rd. Even though summer doesn’t officially start until June 22nd, we consider that summer begins when school ends. And here in Florida, it feels like summer much earlier any way!
We begin our planning for what to do each summer right after Christmas. We always go to Disney World because we are Disney Vacation Club Members and because we love Disney World. We also find activities for Peanut, usually a week of summer camp, a Vacation Bible school, play dates, etc. We love going to the beach and since we are close to a small one, that is always on our list.
This summer, we have something very special going on – Lady Ali’s wedding! We are flying to Kansas where it will be held. Instead of just going for the weekend, we are going for 6 days. This way we can meet our future son-in-law’s family, spend time with my daughter, relax and enjoy this very important time in our family’s life.
Do you plan your summer activities or just do things on the fly?

I am a last second planner for summer activities. Ill wake up in the morning and say, let’s go to ——- today!
Tess, I do that sometimes, but for most of our “big” activities, I’m a bit over-organized.
I don’t have any plans for the summer other than to get a new job!
Hopefully I’ll get around to seeing some family, and maybe get to go hiking or something.

Unless we have an actual vacation planned, we just wing it. I used to schedule my kids time pretty heavily but I realized that was more of a burden on me than anyone else so I now, I just have a pretty easy going summer.
