• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Dreaming of Branson

May 21st, 2009 by Connie Roberts

While I was sick and not able to get online, I did a lot of day dreaming. Since I love traveling, this took up a big part of my imagination. We visit Walt Disney World at least 4 times every year, so I was thinking about some different places to see.

I have heard a lot about Branson, Missouri. It’s been called the “Live Music Capital of the World”. It located in the Ozarks, where you can enjoy the outdoors or just take a quick drive and go to Silver Dollar City, a huge theme park.

Here’s a quick synopsis of my dream vacation in Branson:

I’d stay at either the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing or the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Both are located close to the action. And there are specials going on right now too. The Convention Center has the Bed Breakfast offer where you get breakfast for 2 from Thursday until Sunday. The Promenade offers a third night free when you stay for two.

Live shows would be tops on my list. Seeing some of the performers from the 60′s and Broadway style shows would be a lot of fun. Of course, I’d visit Sliver Dollar City to to go on some of the rides and check out their attractions. The Tablerock Lake Dam would be exciting to visit too. To relax one day,  I can see myself floating on an inner tube on one of their beautiful lakes and then taking in a picnic. Going back to the hotel and going out for a lovely dinner at the Cantina Laredo. Then tucking in to bed ready for my next fun filled day.

You’ve got me sold! I’d love to travel our country and really get to know it. Branson sounds like a great place to start!

You go to WDW four times per year? I’m so jealous!!!

Disney World 4X’s a year. With the recession, tourism is down, The state of Florida loves you.

Heh. I live in “Branson East” – aka “Myrtle Beach SC” – isn’t it odd that Branson is big enough to warrant an “east” version? Yes, yes it is. But there you have it. Plus we have the ocean. So there, Branson. Nyah.

I just went to Branson with my family. Too bad I didn’t get to see any shows, because I was in the hotel room with my sick daughter! And our visit to Silver Dollar City was cancelled when I got the lovely chance to visit the Skaggs Urgen Care in Branson. She was fine, some kind of stomach bug. She was sick last time we went to Branson too. Maybe next year?
