• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Teacher’s Appreciation Week

May 7th, 2009 by Connie Roberts

I have been so blessed with all of my children’s teachers. I’m not going to say that they all have been perfect, but who is? They have been fair, patient, and caring. Some are teachers who have that teaching gene. They were supposed to be in the classroom surrounded by children or teens, trying to keep their attention, finding new ways to teach subjects where all you hear is, “I’m never going to use this” (add whine), and getting hugs from kids who know that this person thinks they are important and can be anything they want.

One thing that I’ve always done with my children is let them know that they are to respect their teachers, even if they think that they are wrong. They can come to me and talk to me about what is troubling them, but unless there’s something illegal going on, I’m going to take their teachers’ side. And teachers appreciate that.

Teachers can do their job a lot easier if they have respect from their students and from parents. Now don’t get me started on their salaries.

I give teachers so much credit. Both of my kids have had awesome teachers. I remember my favorites and my not so favorites. What a tough job it can be at times!
