Shoes For Mother Of The Bride

I am searching for the perfect dress for my daughter, Lady Ali’s wedding. I’m absolutely going crazy trying to decide on a style that I want. I know I won’t wear anything sleeveless ala Michelle Obama because I don’t have the arms for it. I know I want something stylish but not sexy, fashionable but not too outlandish and unique but not weird. I don’t have a clue on the color, but I know that I won’t wear yellow because that’s the bridesmaid colors, plus I look awful in that.

Other than that, I’m still looking! I read on a friend’s blog that instead of putting a lot of energy into looking for a dress that finding the perfect pair of shoes is the answer. Since shopping online has become one of my favorite hobbies, I decided to look at shoes online to get some ideas since the dress search has come to a screeching halt.

I’m not supposed to wear high heels, but the wedding ceremony itself and the photos won’t be that long. During the reception, I have to wear my shoes only for the formal dances and photos, then I can kick off my heels and have fun!

So wearing heels for a short time isn’t going to be that bad. I found two pairs of white shoes that I would consider. They both are dressy and feminine. I like the details too.

How fun! Love the ones of the right :) If you’re looking for another option, my mom (and my bridesmaids) found their from Caparros (I think that’s how it’s spelled). They have great shoes, in lots of colors (like pale golds and silvers, and white) and were 1) reasonably priced and 2) really pretty comfortable. It’s a fun process, enjoy the dress and shoe shopping!

It’s so difficult to find the perfect dress, isn’t it? I hate that.

Shoes are another matter!!! They are fun to try and buy. Love both pair but the heels look like killers to me. Buy some cutesy flip flops for after the formalities – your feet will thank you :)

Pastel colors seem to be the in thing for the mother of the bride as far as color of the dress for this time of year. Last year, a mother of a bride wore a pretty light lavendar dress. Looked great with the the bridal party’s attire.

As far as the shoes, I am not a high heel person now. I fell when I wore my last 3 or 4 inch heel and twisted my ankle. Low heel pumps are the most comfortable and your feet will love you through the entire day of events.

I was a MOB in 2007 & it was a Columbus Day weekend destination wedding in Stowe, VT ~ absolutely spectacular! SIL was from VT & it was easier for our contingent to go up there rather than his fam coming to CT. My dress was burgandy, the girls were chocolate. Everything matched the color of the foliage (almost), email me, Connie, I’ll tell you the story. I’m short, and my shoes were silver, as the pair on the right. Throw me down.

I also think picking out shoes is the best way to find the right dress. The big reason is it’s much easier to carry around shoes then it is to lug the dress all over looking for shoes to match!

I am a shoe freak LOL or I should say I used to be. Used to live in heels – now I dread, dread, dread having to walk in them. However, the two pair you’ve posted are both very pretty. I think I prefer the ones on the left – just my opinion :)

I like shoes a lot and even I feel getting a perfect pair of shoes is a good decision. Both the shoes look good.
