I’m learning how important branding is to a blogger. Since I have four blogs I can’t brand myself with the name of my blog. My given name is common, so I’m considering branding myself with my Twitter ID and the ID that I use on forums, ConnieFoggles.
I’ve been telling a lot of people about what I do to earn extra money from home and they look at me like I have two heads. So I’m looking for ways to show people with something tangible what I do and help me with promotion.
When I run contests or giveaways that aren’t sponsored then I have to mail my prizes on my own. Including a business card is important but what would be even more professional would be having personalized mailing labels with the name ConnieFoggles on them.
I can add my logo and either use a pre-designed label or create my own design from scratch. The price is very economical and it something that a blogger who is just getting started can afford. For 140 labels the price is $9.99, for 280 the cost is $18.99.
I can even use the return address labels for everyday mail to get the word out about my blog. If I add a website address along with my home address it can really catch someone’s attention. I know it would make me look up that web address. And, sorry if this sounds like bragging, but the name ConnieFoggle is pretty unusual. That alone would draw attention to me.
There are specials available from VistaPrint all the time. So it would probably be best if I made myself a “branding kit” including return address labels, business cards, a sign for my car, some t-shirts and other items. I can use them for when I go to IzeaFest, for career day at my daughter’s school, etc. I’ll keep it handy at all times because you never know when someone might ask me what I do for a living.
From my custom digital designing days, I know how important branding is. It’s often the key to getting repeat business.
