• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Saving Money On Moving Expenses

March 31st, 2009 by Connie Roberts

I have done a lot of moving in my time. Moving is one of the stressful life events and can be very expensive. I’ve done it the cheap way with friends and the expensive way with moving companies. Now there’s a way to get the help you need without going overboard on your spending.

hire_a_helperHire A Helper gives you access to local movers to assist you with loading and unloading, packing and unpacking and driving of a rented vehicle. You can hire them to do all or just some of this work. You pay the company so no money exchanges hands between you and the workers, but you decide on who to hire based on reviews of their past work. You actually pay Hire A Helper and provide the mover with a code that they use to get paid.

Search for movers by your entering your zip code and the date you need. Then check on what you are looking for such as moving a piano, hiring someone who is licensed and insured, and of course compare prices and reviews.

Feel confident about Hire A Helper. They are a member of the BBB Online Reliability Program and “the endorsed and sole moving labor provider for Realtor.com and Moving.com.” You can also save on average versus other moving companies.

And here’s more ways to save even more money – $20/off coupon for military!- thx2mil and $10/off coupon for bloggers – blogme. There’s also tips provided for moving such as finding free moving boxes, good ways to pack so items don’t break and more.

This is a one stop moving site that also offers cleaning, day laborers and lawn help.

When we moved over five years ago, I was absolutely FLOORED at what we paid for movers. We were moving less than ten miles away and we paid nearly $1,000! Can you believe that?

Creative Junkies last blog post..I am the man! Except with girly bits
