Do you know all the words to the song “Veggie Tales”? Is it stuck in your head now? We love that song at our house and if you don’t know it, you’re sure to know it soon if you have a toddler or young child. VT’s feature animated talking vegetables without hands that share stories from the Bible. Veggie Tales movies have been around for a long time and when a new one comes along, it is something to celebrate.
Veggie Tales: Abe & the Amazing Promise tells the story of Abe and his wife Sarah waiting for the arrival of their son. The lesson is about patience and waiting on God’s promises. This is made in documentary style with Bob the Tomato playing the director who interviews Abe and Sarah. His helper, Junior the Asparagus wants to rush through the making of this film though. So along with Abe, he is forced to learn to wait.

The second part of the DVD is “Booboville Blunders” featuring Larry the Cucumber as an inventor who tries to take the easy way out of making things. Here again is another lesson in waiting and patience. The silly song is Sneeze if You Need To” and it’s sure to get you and your children laughing along. ![]()
My daughter and I have watched this together a few times. She has watched it over and over and over. She loves the music, the story and the comedy.
This movie features Deliliah, the famous radio DJ, who does the voice work for Sarah. There is a video to hear her take on being a part of a VT movie and a short clip too.
