My Daughter Is Going To Be 22

I just went through the Double Digits birthday for Peanut in December (she turned 10). Soon Lady Ali will be 22. As my children are getting older I am looking more and more at my age. I’ll be 46 in March. And I’m starting to feel it. Yes, my body doesn’t work like I want it to because of the chronic illnesses so that doesn’t count. But, try as I do I feel out of touch.

Lady Ali thinks that Twitter is a joke. She is embarrassed by my blogs and hates that I’m on Facebook. When she told me about buying eyeglasses online and I said that I had blogged about it, she was annoyed. No, it couldn’t be the same place she bought hers. When I told her that I am on Blip, she rolled her eyes.

It’s even worse with Peanut who plays all kinds of video and computer games that I have no clue about. But, that’s the way it’s supposed to be. Children want to be different from their parents in most any way they can. I can remember when I laughed at my Mom who tried to keep up with the music I liked as a teen. I guess it’s payback time.

LadyGrace, it is part of a being a Mom. And like I said I remember being embarrassed of my mother when I was younger. She’s a good kid though and does so much to make me proud.

Owen, I bet you’re glad that she’s able to figure things out, probably better than I can!
