With the short time that Lady Ali was here from Kansas there was not enough time to do all the things we wanted to do together. There really wasn’t enough time for her to help me with my desktop computer. She did take a quick look at my new laptop to see if things were OK.
I still need to add memory to my desktop. She was able to give me a quick walk through on how to add two new sd memory cards. I was glad that she said to call her when I tackle this so she can be on the phone with me as I do it.
I have a feeling that it will actually be Hubby who will be doing the actual work while I translate what he needs to do. It still amazes me how much my daughter knows about computers being that she is self-taught.

She sounds like me, I was self taught and my dad calls me up for all his computer needs…He is about 3000km away from me so its not liek I can see what he needs help on though. Hope you got enough done!
Same here, I usually seek help with technical stuff and I find it great that everyone is good in something – so together we can accomplish anything!
Sometimes I think self-taught people learn quickly because much of the time it’s trial and error. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve crashed my PC and had to correct the problem. LOL
Wanted to drop in and wish you a happy New Year!
My geek-guy had to wipe my desktop completely because of a virus. He added a ton of memory, but I can’t even get it to turn on now, lol. Guess I should get him to fix it, but as long as I have the laptop I’ll probably keep procrastinating!

You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to add memory to desktop computers.
I’m a self-taught – most of the time you’ll find out that things will only fit into spots that they are meant to go into.

It’s always great when your kids teach you something though isn’t it. There’s a certain pride that cannot be matched.

I have the same problem. I have learned a lot, but there is still an
equal amount left to learn. It sometimes holds me up a bit.

LadyGrace, I think it’s something to do with age. The younger you are the more you know about computers.
Daria, I’m glad to have her help. I’m able to help her with other things as well.
Friday, Happy New Year to you too! I’m always afraid of doing something to mess up my computer so I don’t try to do much with it.
Don’t scare me, skeeterbess! I do have my laptop but I haven’t transferred all of my info from my desktop to it yet. I still need my desktop.
That’s what my daughter said too Sadie. So I’m hoping it will be as easy as you say.
Cady, one of these days I’ll learn more about computers. I’ve come pretty far with things so far but opening a tower really scares me.
Yes Owen, I am always proud of my daughter’s knowledge.
Well Barbara, we can’t know it all. I try and learn as much as I can, but there’s just so much I can handle. I keep trying though, that’s the fun part!
I hear you…technical things can be a struggle. I have found that I can self teach myself some things, but I have sought out people to help me piece things together and it’s been an enormous help!
