Vaseline Clinical Therapy Lotion Review

Would you use a product if a friend recommended it? Lots of residents of Kodiak, Alaska did when Petal Ruch, a 50-year old mother of four, “prescribed” Vaseline Clinical Therapy Lotion. Kodiak gets very cold, as you can imagine and dry, cracked skin is a big problem there.

The Vaseline company believes in their product, which has 60% more moisture than prescription lotion but is available without a prescription. Vaseline chose her to be their “spokesperson” because she had extremely dry skin, just what this product is intended for. After trying it for herself she felt comfortable telling other people about it. Petal used word of mouth to introduce Vaseline Clinical Therapy to more than 1000 people in her town of 6000.

I know about dry, cracked skin too. I have a chronic illness called Sjogren’s Syndrome (pronounced show-grins). Along with dry eyes and mouth, dry skin is a common symptom. Even when it isn’t cold here in Florida I have dry, flaky skin. When I have a flare up my skin can get so dry that it cracks.

I like the way that the lotion soaks right into my skin when applied. There’s no greasy feeling after use. It is hypoallergenic which is a plus for me and I am sure for many other people. It is also safe to use on children. It is not only for hands, but can be used on body skin, like elbows, legs, feet, etc.

From the box, “…it is scientifically proven to deliver triple action results: instant relief – immediately increases hydration by 5x, long-lasting protection – locks in moisture for 24 hours and sustained therapy – helps heal extremely dry skin in 5 days.”

This is the real deal. I felt immediate softness and with continued use, my skin got softer and was protected from further damage. (Please note that this should not be used on open wounds though.)

    THANK YOU.

I am constantly on the watch for really good lotions for dry skin. Right now, my daughter uses Udderly Smooth Udder Cream and while it worked great last year, this year? Not so much. So we might just try this one.

How funny that I just happened to read this post tonight! I spent a good 20 minutes at Target today trying to find a lotion that would work on my skin. It’s become so dry and raw, especially my hands from all the hand-washing I do. I don’t recall seeing the Vaseline lotion but I’ll have to look specifically for it next time I go! Thanks for sharing this!

Interesting review. I am not a big user of Vaseline but my wife is. Perhaps she will use this stuff.

Stomphoof, I hope you can give this info to your wife. Be sure to tell her you “prescribed” it.
