Looking at your end of year finances and seeing how much money you spend and where you spend it, can cause serious psychological damage. There should be a warning about this on Quicken. I think I’m going to write to the FDA or the Surgeon General about this.
Hubby and I just went through this ordeal in order to make a decision about how much money to set aside for Flexible Spending Account for my family’s health costs. As we did this I again brought up the subject of needing to get term life insurance quotes for me.
I know this is at the bottom of the list of our needs right now because of our daughter’s wedding coming up this August. We don’t want to put this on credit so paying for other items right now is pretty much out of reach.

In about a month I start working, and thus paying for everything myself. Scary!

I wish you luck on your finances. It is soooo hard to look at it on paper isn’t it? I still don’t have life insurance as I keep putting it off to pay other things.

You just reminded me that we’re still without life insurance. We’ve been without it for 6-7 years now and I HATE that. But it’s just not in the budget. We finally do have medical insurance so I’m grateful for that. Finances, finances, finances.

That is a scary thought Daffodil, but you’ll do it!
Thank you Of Cats. I need all the good wishes I can get.
Finances are the battle cry for many of us, Elizabeth. And saying that things are not in our budget is another thing I’m used to saying too.
wishing you much luck. we are taking it one day at a time.

Sounds like a good idea Misty.
Vacation to forget or to run away, Mom
A bit of both. After nearly 4 months of having a 4 year old in a body cast – we need a serious break.
My daughter had hip surgery in Sept and Oct to correct dysplasia. She got out of her casts on Dec 16th and is now busy learning how to walk again. It’s been a long few months.
We actually had this scheduled for mid-November but had to reschedule due to the surgeries.
It is a much needed break.

Mom, yes it sounds like you sure need a break. Enjoy your time away and have a lot of fun.
Oh yes, I dread this time of the year for that reason. As I pull reports for the tax season, I remember why I should look at our spending on a regular basis. A year view puts it in a different perspective.
