Double Digits

Peanut is going to be 10 years old next week. To our family this is a big milestone that we call “Double Digits”. These birthdays are extra special. So when she asked to have her ears pierced I didn’t even hesitate.

I never did the ear piercing as a baby thing. I believe that if my daughters want their ears pierced they’ll have it done when they make the choice. So she decided to have it done at almost 10 years old. And she did very well too!

Here’s some photos to share:

Waiting while I fill out paperwork. I didn’t know I could sign my name and add my initials so fast!

Aww, she looks so afraid before, then really happy after wards. I’m a product of the baby ear piercing thing. In fact, it was done before I left the hospital as a newborn! LOL!

She was Lynn, but it was so quick it was over before she could really get to crying.

With her birthday and Christmas coming, we didn’t get too much more there. Just a headband for Christmas and a box set of earrings for next Christmas, which I get to wear first!

Peanut looked just a little nervous there in that first picture but afterward it looks like she did great!

Amanda had her ears pierced years ago but then ended up being allergic to almost all of the earrings out there so we let them grow back over – the poor kid had constant infections and it just wasn’t worth it.

Linda, that’s what happened with my older dd. She is going to get her ears pierced again though before her wedding to try it out again. Hopefully she’ll be OK.

So you do double digits too in your family, BlapherMJ? It’s a fun tradition.
