What A Sick Halloween

Peanut got sick on Wednesday night with a stomach bug. She had a rough night and wasn’t able to sleep much with needing to use the bathroom most of the night. She ended up staying home from school Thursday and Friday because she still felt sick to her stomach and couldn’t eat much. This left her feeling weak and just plain yucky.

I knew she was really sick when I asked her about going out trick or treating. She said that she didn’t know if she felt well enough and maybe she should just go to two houses and be driven there. That settled it for me in making my decision to keep her home from school on Friday.

And that’s just what she did. Hubby drove her to a good friend’s house and to my Mom’s house. Then he did get her to walk to a few houses close to our home for about 10 minutes. That’s all she could handle.

Since Thursday I’ve been back to sleeping most of the day. I blamed it on being up with Peanut on Wednesday night, but I’m still feeling horrible. I’m still on antibiotics and not feeling like I’m getting any better. I don’t even have much energy for blogging. Sorry if I haven’t visited your blogs and left comments. As soon as I"m back to feeling better I will.

  4. Connie,

I KNEW something must be wrong. I hadn’t heard from you in awhile and was worried. I am sorry that you and Peanut are feeling so poorly. I understand because mom and I are both sick right now too and just making it through. I wish I were physically closer to offer more help, but please know you have lots of prayers and good wishes coming your way.

When you feel better, please let me know, I care.

    Love and gentle hugs,

  9. Oh my word, my little monkey was sick too on Halloween. We don’t do trick or treating, but I do take him to my grandma’s house (who’s now 86) to help her hand out her candy so she doesn’t have to keep getting up and down out of her chair for all the trick or treaters she gets. Kaydn Rye loves handing out all the candy to the kids, and he was fine all day even though he had thrown up a couple times during the night before. It was towards evening, just as all the trick or treaters started showing up, that he was in the bathroom about every five minutes. The weird thing is that he felt perfectly fine. He would jus all of a sudden have to go to the bathroom. It was weird.

  10. Total agreement with Heather! Halloween was one of those “holidays” we always were jazzed about as kids. It’s gotten trickier (no pun intended) as the years go by – having to be much more careful then we ever were – but to miss it completely 🙁

Hope your family is feeling much better very soon!
