Canasta Hand and Foot Card Game Review
Have you ever played Canasta? I, Hubby and Peanut never had before, so when we received Canasta Hand and Foot card game we were very puzzled with the directions. We read through them a few times and then thought it would be best to play the game and see how it goes.
We needed another person to play as this games takes 4 or an even number over that like 6 people. So we asked an adult friend to play. There were two teams made of me and Peanut and Hubby and our friend. We did this because I knew that Hubby and our friend would catch on quickly and would be able to help us learn.
The first game was just a trial run. We learned that Marina Games made this game a lot easier by putting the face value of the cards right on them. Also the directions are very detailed and having them close by to look at made things go be a lot more smoothly.
For the second game, we switched partners and things were easier this time around. It also was fun because we were understanding how to gain more points. We are looking forward to playing this game soon when Hubby’s parents visit from Utah for Christmas. They enjoy card games and we’ll have enough people to play until Hubby comes home from work. Then we’ll fight over who plays!
I learned that this game is actually a version of Canasta, called the North American version. It includes four decks of cards, which equal 216 cards and is for children and adults age 8 and over.

I always thought Canasta would be hard to learn. Maybe this is the way to make it easier. I love playing games. Hubby, not so much. That’s why I had kids! Should have had one more though. Oh well, much easier to have Grandma come over and play. LOL

Karen, the directions look intimidating but once you really read through them and then play with them by your side, it’s not so bad and gets easier each time you play.

I LOVE playing Hand and Foot Canasta. I used to live with an older lady and her stepdaughter, and we’d have the neighbors over and play Canasta or Uno for HOURS. Lots of fun. It’s nice to know they’ve made it a little easier, though; arguments over rules are never fun. And the value of the cards on the face is nice, too! I may have to get that for someone for the holidays…
kitronas last blog post..Good job, Motrin.

LOL at the arguments, kitrona. I thought that was just when children played games.
