Home Decor Online

Remodeling our home is very stressful. It has caused many arguments between me and my Hubby, which is quite rare. I want things done quickly and he has his own way of doing things. With his work schedule being so heavy, we are not able to be together often. One of the biggest things that aggravates me is when he takes it upon himself to shop for something important we need without me seeing it first. One time he bought paint and even painted the bathroom when I was out for the day. I about had a fit!

decorative hardwareAfter that fiasco he learned not to do anything that drastic ever again. When I showed him that we can buy home decor items online from InvitingHome.com it was a big relief for us both. Knowing that we can look at the products we need such as decorative hardware and lighting fixtures as well as learn the best way to use these items to accentuate the best parts our home.

The products are all from leading manufacturers without a middleman involved so the prices are quite the bargain. The descriptions of every item is extremely detailed and you can call Customer Service for more information if necessary. Another service that is offered is consultations with either an Architectural Specialist or an Interior Designer by phone or email. We can email a photo of our current project and request some help.

Right now we’re working on a newly made wall that separates the master bedroom from our new den. We need to get some ideas on what type of Crown Molding to use. Since Hubby and I can’t agree on what looks better, this type of consultation can really help us.

After looking through their Inspiration Gallery, I have some new ideas of what to do with the three rooms we’re working on, especially the den. And if we become members of InvitingHome.com we not only get updates on new products, a newsletter on decorating ideas but a welcome discount coupon and discount offers on future purchases.

I don’t know if I could live through a remodel. It would be fun having things exactly how I want them, but I’d want everything done yesterday. I’m not a patient person. Haha.

I can’t imagine DIY remodeling. You are much more brave than I am.

Remodeling is such a huge thing if couples are not on the same page. When I wait on customers who are buying carpet, it can be difficult if they want different things. I usually walk away and let them sort it out.

My brother just went through a remodel. Just watching him was stressful. I can’t imagine doing it myself. You must be so patient! I’m sure it’s exciting too, though.

We did some major work last year and it was the worst! Pounding, delays, decisions, more money than expected….I’m glad it’s over. No way would we be able to do things ourselves!
Using some online sources though is a good idea- I wish I would have thought of that during the major project time–

corrin, I’m usually patient, but when it comes to my house, no way can I stand living with a mess around me.

Karen, I remember when we had to chose our granite top kitchen counters. We took forever coming to a decision and I asked the man in the place how many divorces happened in front of him ;)

Sadie, thanks for getting me to look at the positives. It is exciting. Every step we make in the direction of getting our house looking just the way we want is very fullfulling.

So you’re a survivor Maureen? Good to know it can be done!

our home remodeling plans right now are just to paint every room. eventually, we want to close in our carport and turn it into a family room, but i don’t think that will happen until after the economy turns back around.

It’s amazing what a difference a small thing like crown moulding can make when it comes to remodeling.

I’ve had paint for the bathroom for several years now but STILL haven’t gotten around to actually putting it on the walls! Now how bad is that???

  15. Connie Says:

Since we started this before the recession/depression and our dd’s wedding we have no choice but to finish it already. It’s killing us but we have to do it, or there will be more expenses for me in a place with padded walls LOL.

  16. Connie Says:

Linda, those small touches make a huge difference! I can’t wait until it’s all over and all the details are in place.

  17. Samantha & Mr. Tigger Says:

Ohhh! Our Mom did some remodeling and it seemed to take forever, but in the end it was wonderful! And the little touches are the best!! Makes you forget all the stuff that came before!!

I can’t believe your husband actually painted a room without you knowing about it!! That is so funny, probably not for you at the time though. My husband wouldn’t even know what to do with a paintbrush, let alone pick out a paint color. And I will definitely have to check out that site. We are doing all kinds of stuff to our new home.
