• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Holy Blog Madness!

November 15th, 2008 by Connie Roberts

One of my blogs on a different host is down, still down. My thinking was that I would have one blog on a different host so if there’s any problems with my host I would have one blog I could use. My other blogs are all on one host and they are having issues. I can’t switch from Visual to HTML in write a post and neither can my host provider.

A very kind and helpful neighborhood Geek, Owen tried to figure out what the heck is going on and he’s at a loss too. That’s scary! If Owen can’t figure it out, it’s serious. My feeds aren’t working but he thinks he’s got that under control (fingers crossed).

Right now I’m cranky and tired. Peanut and I were supposed to go to a play last night but having trying to get these blog issues figured out took priority. So we’re going tonight. I need a long nap so I’ll be in a good state of mind to enjoy the play. I’m taking a blog break, which is very much needed right now.

Have you ever felt like giving up on your blog, or throwing your computer out the window maybe?

Felt like giving up on my blog? Yes! Felt like throwing the computer out the window? Yes! Many times over! lol

Hope your blog problems are fixed up real soon!

Tina (mummifiedx5)s last blog post..So where are you from?

    2. Connie Says:

Thanks Tina, me too. Because I can’t afford a new computer and my stress level may cause me high blood pressure :)

    3. Maureen Says:

Giving up on my blog–uhmm…. only about EVERY day!! Throwing the computer out the window–OFTEN!! I am praying it all gets straightened out soon for you, and don’t worry, we will all still be here when you get back, your blog is too good to leave!!

      Hang in there!

    4. Kate@FromaDesperateHousewife Says:

I have been there myself. I have occasionally felt like taking a break from the blog, but that’s usually because blogging can sometimes feel like high school, I haven’t had too many technical problems with the blog yet. (did I just jinx myself?)

Kate@FromaDesperateHousewifes last blog post..It’s a Blizzard here in the Dakotas!

    5. Casey Says:

Please tell me the host that’s down isn’t Vista Pages? I just had to switch hosts because they were constantly down and would never do anything about it. Guess you hit a sore subject. To answer your question, yes.. I’ve felt like giving up on my blog but I moved it to another hosting company instead. I lost out on about 2 years worth of dues that I had paid in advance since they refused to refund the money. So sad.

    6. Danny Cooper Says:

I hate when one of my sites goes down and I can’t figure out why, this is the main reason I host my sites with local companies, so I can bug them if anything goes wrong!

    7. Heather (How to be a Woman..?) Says:

Every time I change my blog’s theme I get to the point where I want to throw in the towel. Like you, I sort of get really into it and end up missing other stuff. I get really mad at my blog, but when it’s fixed all is forgiven.

      Enjoy your play!!

    8. Connie Says:

Maureen, Thanks for the kind words. I hope I’ll still be here ;) Just kidding!

    9. Connie Says:

Kate, I hope you didn’t jinx yourself. It’s quite painful and frustrating. Wow, am I the drama queen or what?

    10. Connie Says:

No Casey it’s not Vista pages. What issues where you having with them? I really don’t want to name the host until I know it’s really their fault. But if it is, I will.

    11. Connie Says:

How do you find local companies, Danny? I’ve never even given that a thought. Maybe I will though.

    12. Connie Says:

Thanks Heather, the break last night was needed. The play was very well done and we enjoyed ourselves. Still having blog issues but I’m in a better state of mind now. So off I go to blog some more.

    13. Helene Says:

Sorry to hear you were having such frustrating problems! I’ve felt the same way before but my husband is a computer geek so I usually just turn to him and he can figure it out.

Helenes last blog post..I. just. can’t. stop.

    14. Connie Says:

Can I hire your husband Helene, please?

    15. A Cowboy's Wife Says:

Just stopping to say hi. I’m so sorry you’re having troubles with your blog:(

      How’s your health been Connie?

    16. Connie Says:

I’m feeling great now, thanks. Just need a blog doctor is all ;)

    17. Karen Says:

I just signed up so now it says 193! How did you know you were having issues? Where do you get that widget to put your numbers subscribed in your sidebar? One of my blogs doesn’t give my last post for comment luv. Maybe I should find out why. I’m skeeered though.

    18. Connie Says:

Karen, I’m not sure where the widget came from. It’s an option I had with my blog. I knew I was having issues with my RSS feed when the CL wasn’t working, but I got an email from an email subscriber who thought my blog was down because she hadn’t gotten any updates in a while. It was a while before she emailed me though.
