I’m free! My doctor gave me a Get of the House Free card today. So finally I was able to go out without fear of getting sicker. I did get my flu shot and was told that the fatigue is normal because it takes me longer to get well after any type of sickness. I’ve heard this about a million times, so you think I’d finally get it. But, being me, I have to try to push myself and fall asleep at the wheel one hundred and ten times, then hear the doctor tell me that.
I did do my mini celebration after my appointment. I decided to treat myself to a sandwich at Subway and then I went shopping at Walmart. I did a lot of shopping, too much shopping. Pushing the cart and walking so much wore me out. I really needed a pair of Dansko shoes I should have used one of the scooters at the store.
After all of this, I still had to pick up Peanut from school and then go to my Mom’s house to help her with her new cell phone. By the time I came home, I ended up falling asleep for two hours. I’m still exhausted. When will I learn?
But all in all, it was great getting out the house finally.

Not trying to be nosy, but why does it take you longer to recover from sickness? I know I’m missing something here, but being fairly new I have no idea what it is. Once again, sorry if I’m asking too many questions…
I am glad you are feeling better though and we able to get out of the house!!

Dore,
No problem with you asking! I have multiple chronic illnesses and most of them are autoimmune like Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am on immunosuppressants which suppress my immune system not to keep working against me. But when I get sick they can cause me to be unable to fight a sickness because it’s “new”. Weird, but true!
Connie, that must be so difficult with a young child to look after when you’re not feeling 100 percent. I’m glad to hear you are able to get out and about now though!

Heather, I try my best to be positive but being stuck at home is the pits. I have a lot of support from my wonderful husband, family and friends though with my dd. She’s used to me being sick a lot and just goes with the flow now.
Coming out of home after so many days of sickness is gr8 feeling, I get even better just thinking about it sometimes…I remember once in college days when I was part of a dance group in college and I was in flu for a week and the day our performance was due I went to the show and performed at medicine…and then got well despite excursion.

Priya, I dreamed about getting out of the house the whole time I was stuck home, but it didn’t get me better any quicker..oh well, I’ll keep trying it even if it’s to stay positive.
Yes Julie, out of all the things that are wrong with me, not being able to go outside and be around people is the worst.
Poor Connie~ It’s awful to be sick. I always stay crammed up in the house and wind up feeling worse than if I was to get out. I can understand why you have to, though. I just think that staying cooped up makes us feel worse at times.
