Another year, another BlogBlast for Peace. And so it goes, but this year the future seems brighter. Is it due to the fact that Barack Obama was elected president on November 4th? Yes! But it is also due to the way he was elected, the way that so many in this country came together to share a new vision and a new hope for us as a nation. We blogged about it, spoke about it, wrote about it, called strangers, made new friends, found new parts our personalities that we didn’t know existed, became more knowledgeable about our country and our government and realized that we were striving for one thing, a better way of life for all of us. Even those that didn’t or still don’t believe as we do.
That’s true peace. Wanting a a better for people that spat at us and berated us. We put it all behind us knowing that the next four years will make the USA a more peaceful nation. A country where we can all achieve the same things if we work for them.A nation where the barriers of race are now being broken, where one day they will be completely broken. Where gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, religious belief, will no longer matter. We can all be given the same rights as it should be.
Yes We Can….Have Peace.
