Bankrupt Stores And Sales

I saw a huge sign outside of our local Linens and Things store, that says “Going Out of Business Sale”. I also saw some men standing on the corners of some of our main roads near the store, with placards that said, “Linens and Things Liquidation Sale”.
This store is only about 2 years old. I was in shock until I read that the entire chain has filed bankruptcy. I also learned that Meryn’s has done the same. We don’t have any of those stores here in Florida, but it’s scary to know that these big stores are falling on hard times.
I know that I can take advantage and try to find some sales when the prices get very low. Right now L&T is only offering 10 – 30% off regular prices. In Bealls, a department store, there was a huge sale on almost everything. They had most items at 40% off. Then they had clearance items at 70% off. Peanut and I looked throughout the store. They had everything you could think of from wallets to Webkinz, from girdles to golf bags, from pants to pajamas.
So before heading to liquidation sale, check out the competition. And remember that sales are final at stores in bankruptcy. Do your research to see if you are getting a bargain.

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

I didn’t know they were going out of business. I wish I had some extra cash I love that store! It is a great time to shop for those Christmas gifts though or something for you.
It is sad to see them fail, it’s not a good sign for our economy.

Linens and things is going bankrupt. Guess where Im going tomorrow. That is a new store. If they would just keep prices where normal people can buy they wouldnt have a problem.

Oh my word, I love that store, I can’t believe it! Right now we live in the middle of nowhere and there isn’t a Linens and Things for thousands of miles, but when we lived in Memphis I was a regular there.

Mervyns had filed Chapter 11 earlier this year and just last week did chapter 7 so not sure when the stores will all close, I know several have already. Figures this is the only dept store I have credit with.

I couldn’t believe it when my mom told me about Linens and Things.
I’m afraid we are going to see more this in the near future.
Wish I could be there for the sales!

I can’t believe how people go crazy over a 10% off sale because it’s going out of business. I wait for the 70% off!

Beall’s always has major sales at the ends of the seasons. That doesn’t alarm me

When Hancocks closed, I was in shock. I did take the opportunity to get some great deals. It is so sad when we lose these stores.
