I haven’t had the time to blog about this yet, but we were fortunate enough to get tickets to Game 2 of ALCS on Saturday, Oct. 11th. It was held at Tropicana Field and the Tampa Bay Rays played the Boston Red Sox. I am not a sports fan by any means, but with the Rays being a losing team for so long and finally making it to the playoffs, I was excited to go.
We’ve been to see the Rays play a few times before. The staff at the stadium is just some of the best people when it comes to serving the public. They are cheerful and helpful. When you enter the stadium you feel a bit like you’re in Disney! There’s tons of smiling people lined up to welcome you, point you in the right direction and help in any way they can.
They provide wheelchairs and someone to push them if you need help with that. There’s staff all over so no need to look for help. They are sure to wave to small children to make them feel special. We even had someone call Peanut “Princess”!
We had nosebleed seats but the fans were ready to see our Rays win. There were cowbells ringing (our way of cheering our team or making the other team want to get ear plugs), singing, chanting and lots of hoots and hollers. Peanut had her lucky Rays Teddy Bear with her. When we rubbed its belly the Rays scored.
The game turned out to be a nailbiter and went into extra innings. It was a late night but Peanut was able to stay awake, keep cheering and yelling and made it to the 11th inning at 1:37 AM. And, the Rays beat the Red Sox, 9-8. What a game and what a great family night!

I can’t believe they lost last night! They WILL make it to the World Series!
