• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

  • Mighty Ike

September 12th, 2008 by Connie Roberts

Hurricane IkeWatching CNN and reading the Tweets on Twitter about Hurricane Ike have me feeling blessed but at the same time frightened. If a Hurricane of that size hit Florida even Central Florida would be flooded by storm surge.

I know if I heard the words “certain death” I’d be out of here. But as Anderson Cooper mentioned in his blog it’s mainly the poor that didn’t evacuate. The people that are still in the way of the storm and have been interviewed or sent in Ireports had no way of leaving, had pets, had family that are incapacitated in some way and/or were afraid to leave but their underlying factor was lack of money.

I’m watching, listening and praying for the people in Texas. Right now the storm is only one MPH away from a Category 3.

    One Response to “Mighty Ike”

    1. Rob Says:

There wasn’t necessarily “certain death”, but Ike did make a huge mess going through, as I know from firsthand experience.
