Allergies Aggravated

Adorable Penguin Humidifier

Poor Peanut. I have a feeling that the Allergist is going to either say “out with her tonsils” or more allergy testing. She’s suffering again with allergies. Her tonsils are huge and she’s having trouble sleeping due to her open mouth breathing. Her lips are really chapped too.

We haven’t done anything different at home. But she is back to school. She’s always had trouble with allergies there. Every time she goes outdoors they get worse. This year her class is having recess a few days a week. She’s thrilled to be able to run off some energy but at the same time she ends up with congestion, backdrip and a sore throat.

We have allergy free pillow cases and mattress cover for her bed. We bought a humidifier for her room. I always get those mixed up with dehumidifiers, but thank goodness when I bought the cute thing I knew what to buy. She’s on lots of medication including two types of nose spray but nothing seems to help.

Thank goodness we have a great allergist who listens to Peanut. He knows not to even bother with shots because she is pretty much traumatized by them. He feels it’s not worth doing if it means she’ll be so upset and there’s no guarantee of them working. Plus she’ll be missing school because his office isn’t open after school here.

Poor kid, I hope she feels better soon. My son suffers from allergies too, but so far it hasn’t gotten bad enough to warrrant a trip to the allergist. I hope your daughter can avoid surgery. :-(
