• About

I’m a wife and mom of two daughters. My daughters are 12 years apart so that keeps me quite busy and a little crazy at times. My life is a jumble of mixed up mishaps, but it’s always centered around my family.

    Rubber Stamps

    September 30th, 2008

I’ve seen those rubber stamps that people use with their home address printed on them so they don’t have to buy return address labels. I’ve seen some that say “Pay Now” or “Past Due” (I don’t like seeing those a lot.) I’ve seen them used for crafts that have images of all kinds like flowers, animals and even Disney characters.

I used to work for a company that used pre-inked stamps to identify papers especially reports for the particular branches of the company. This was way before computers were used. When I was in high school I worked for a company that delivered oil to homes and businesses. I loved using the large metal rubber stamps and make that loud snapping noise on customers’ bills. It would say, in red, “Pay in Full” by the amount. I felt like a bank teller who had tons of those stampers in their teller cages and would use one for each slip of paper.

Now I can use a stamp imprinted with my logo to put on packages I mail out to contest winners, on notes I send with the prizes and anywhere I want my logo to be seen. I can include my URL and an email address as well as a home address. The stamps come in black, red or blue ink. There are small or large sizes and there’s currently a 50% off discount on small stamps using the code Stamps50.

    They’re Going To Spend Money

    September 30th, 2008

The stock market took a huge plunge yesterday. We know that we’re in a financial crisis. Unemployment rates are skyrocketing. Foreclosures are the norm. Gas prices, food prices, all prices are going up.

But do you still see people buying cigarettes? Know of people taking vacations? See people on golf courses or eating out at restaurants? You know you do it too. As much as you try to save there are some things that you can’t help but splurge.

For my family we end up spending money on take out. Hubby and I are just too tired at the end of the day sometimes to cook. We know we’re wasting money but we can’t get out of the habit.

The good news in this for those of us who work at home either with blogging or selling online is that people are still going to buy. Don’t get caught up in the bad news of the recent days and the coming days. Keep on working!

    Disney Bingo Game

    September 29th, 2008

Memories of Jiffy Pop popcorn, lots of friends trying to find something to do in the shade to stay cool after hours of running around, some lemonade, and board games all around. We’d be sitting on blankets on the concrete or if we could find a grassy area in the shade we’d sneak on there for a while.

This was our afternoon downtime. We were done with hopscotch, stick ball, tag, hide and seek and jump rope. We’d been home for lunch and were back outside together. After all who would stay indoors in the summer?

Someone would chose to play Bingo. It was a game where we could really relax our minds as well as our bodies. We’d just have to listen to the caller and put down our little red plastic buttons on the cardboard cards. Choose full card, four corners, or regular bingo. Then play and try to be first to call out Bingo. You’d start out relaxing but then it would get exciting. Who needed just one more square to win? Then you’d hear, “Bingo!”. It was far from over because someone else wanted to be the caller and we’d all want a chance to play and try to win again.

Now I can share this fun with Peanut. There’s something new that we’d both love to play, Disney Bingo. Even Hubby would love it since we’re such Disney fanatics.

Game night needs something new and exciting and this may just do the trick. I may have to find some Jiffy Pop too! You can find Screenlife’s Disney Bingo DVD game on Amazon.com or Drugstore.com. This is a great way to have family time and not spend money on going out.

Take a look at what the game has to offer:

    We Need A Date Night

    September 29th, 2008

    fireproofbanner
Hubby and I need some time alone. Maybe dinner and a movie, a real date night. I heard about the movie Fireproof and thought that would be just the kind of movie to get us to rekindle things in the romance department. Fireproof is about a marriage that’s falling apart but the couple promises to give it 30 days to reassess it before they sign their divorce papers. It stars Kurt Cameron and is from the creators of Facing the Giants.

You may be asking why chose this move to rekindle romance? Well I know that Hubby and I are in our marriage for the long run. We’ve been through many trials but our love and commitment to each other has always won. I believe that seeing Fireproof will help us to recognize that our marriage is awesome because we love each other deeply.

We’ve been married for almost 13 years. We’ve been through too many deaths in our family, two miscarriages, my being chronically ill, financial problems, and more. But we’re together because we want to be. Fireproof can help us assess our love and commitment to eachother.
