Tomorrow’s the day. We’re off to Open House at Peanut’s school. I’ll be there as three persons in one, Mom, PTSO volunteer and church volunteer.

I’ll be getting there early to help set up the Open House which not only allows parents to meet their childn’s teacher but provides us with information from the community’s social services. There will be table set up in the cafeteria or multi-purpose room as it’s called where the different agencies will provide information.

My church is going to presenting information on our Food Pantry, our Chronic Illness Support Group and our Single Mothers upcoming support group. Toda;y I helped fill up baggies with a brochure, candy and some goodies for the children. We don’t have as many as we’d like but we’ll have flyers to hand out when we run out of baggies.

I was hoping that we could have some funny t shirts, some music or a CD of some of the children’s activities to play but we didn’t have time to get those things organized. I know that we’ll do fine though.

The great thing is that the school will be holding a food drive for our Food Pantry later in the year. This will not only help us to stock our shelves which run dry almost every week, but form a more solid relationship with the school that is just across the street from us.
