Advertisers Dropping Michael Savage Show
Since July 16th when shock jock Michael Savage spewed his hateful remarks about autism as being “A fraud, a racket” Aflac has dropped advertising with his show. Add to the list DirectBuy which has decided not to renew their contract. They had decided this prior to his Autism rant but a company representative was quoted as saying that this show re-affirmed the company’s decision.
Radio Shack and Anheiser Busch have made announcements that they have never approved ads for his show. These companies want to assure the public that they are not associated with the Savage Nation.
Radio stations in Mississippi, Virginia and Cleveland have dropped Savage’s show from their line up.
I found a list of the current advertisers for the Savage Nation on Wrong Planet. Please take the time to write or email these companies and tell them that they need to drop advertising for that hate-filled show. Let them know you’ll be boycotting their products. There is a sample letter included.

I was watching a piece about this on the news the other day and I’m beginning to think that he won’t even have a show soon - which is a good thing. People like him do not need forums to spot their stupid nonsense and hurtful comments. Good for those advertisers who have left!

I’m not familiar with the show, being in Australia, but this is definitely not the way to win friends and influence people.
One would think that someone in the public eye like this would check their facts before they speak, or better, not say anything at all!
Cheers,
Allan

I was told by someone that these type of shock jocks do this purposely to get media coverage. If that’s what they want they take the gamble of losing advertisers. I doubt he’ll lose his audience because some people believe his drivel.
